Former Apple CEO reportedly considers bid for BlackBerry

John Sculley, former Apple(s aapl) CEO, is reportedly considering a bid to buy BlackBerry(s bbry), according to a report from The Globe and Mail. If accurate, that would place him among other potential bidders that could include Cisco(csco), Google(s goog), Lenovo and even BlackBerry co-founders Mike Lazaridis and Doug Fregin.

Sculley worked at Apple as chief executive officer from 1983 to 1993. He had a famously poor relationship with Steve Jobs throughout the time he was there, and was largely responsible for ousting him from the company. While Apple didn’t exactly flourish during Sculley’s tenure, The Globe and Mail’s sources say he is exploring a joint bid for BlackBerry with Canadian partners.

BlackBerry is willing to sell itself in parts, but so far the only actual bid has been the $4.7 billion offered by Fairfax Financial Holdings. BlackBerry’s hardware business has been quickly plummeting, but…
